Danger in the Desert

Danger In The Desert is the first CD released by the Contemporary Christian vocal trio, Living Truth. Rusty Fleming, Donna Thomas, and Marie Broome have been singing in church for years and now have combined their vocal talents to give life to eleven original songs.

From the infectious drive of Heirs To The Promise swinging through Walkin’ On The Water to the bluesy Let Me Hear, the CD starts off with an emphasis on variety and delivers a clear message of praise. Fleming’s compositions are sharp and well crafted, and are energized by a tight rhythm section that plays out under the moniker, Elder Brother.

After Let Me Hear, Fleming’s music underscores Thomas’ meditative, A Song Of Love, followed by All Of Me, a standout duet featuring Marie and Rusty with solo guitar accompaniment. A boy’s remembrance of God’s fatherly love is captured in Fishin’ Hole, followed by I Will Go along with another Thomas lyric assisted by Broome and set to Fleming’s music, I Surrender. more »

The title cut is a funky rocker that chronicles Israel’s backslide in the desert after the Exodus. The band gets to stretch out and cut loose on Danger In The Desert in a jazz inspired fusion that serves as a perfect setup to Fleming’s poignant take on Psalm 139, Where Could I Go, which leads to the last song, I Am Found (Amazing Grace), another Fleming tribute to a classic theme.

Recorded at the secluded Sweet Sea Studios in Cary, North Carolina under the production hand of Winslow Stillman, Elder Brother provides a solid foundation on which these songs are built. John Drymon’s keyboards are elegant and expressive. Karl Von Gunten and Gene Barrio are rock solid on drums and bass, while Stillman’s guitars are effective and complementary. This band can rock and restrain!

After Hours Records is an independent record company committed to the creation, promotion, and distribution of high quality music. Our philosophy is really quite simple, to find talented individuals and make their music available via non-traditional means.
